PERFORMED AND CONDUCTED BY YOUNG BAY AREA MUSICIANS
San Francisco Youth Chamber Orchestra is performed, organized and conducted by passionate young musicians in the Bay Area. Many members are part of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, San Francisco Conservatory, School of the Arts and other youth orchestras and high schools in the Bay Area. SFYCO is a rotating group of 20-30 young musicians and vocalists in their teens and early twenties organized and conducted by youth musician Euan Shields.
The orchestra explores a dynamic range of orchestral and choral work including classical, baroque, romantic, impressionist, opera and modern composition. Their Repertoire has included works by Debussy, Mozart, Dvorak, Bach, Monteverde, and Schoenberg. They have a played 10 public concerts in San Francisco since their founding in late 2015. As part of their social mission, all performances raise charity to help homeless families in San Francisco.
